Since last October, I spent six months slow-traveling through the Americas — sharing real stories of freedom, growth, and soul-led adventure. I’ll be heading back out again this October, and in the meantime, I’m reflecting on what the journey taught me.

Ahhhh, sunshine at last! For two people traveling in the winter to escape the rain, we’ve certainly had our fair share of it on this journey. Unusual weather patterns seem to be following us, but at least for now, the Pacific side of Costa Rica is looking sunshiney and bright.

It’s now the beginning of January and we are at the midway point through this travel journey. So far we have seen San Diego, Cabo, Nassau, Eleuthera and Belize. We’ve slept in 11 different beds and seen 3 different countries. Not bad for 3 months of travel, and little did we know that the pace was going to drastically change for the rest of the trip.

And so the movement continues.

Figuring out logistics to travel from a remote Bahamian island to Central America takes a little navigating—but I enjoy that part. The puzzle of how to get from one place to another, what connections work best, and how to make the most of it—it’s part of the adventure. Since Eleuthera is so remote, we needed to overnight in Nassau before flying to Belize through Miami. And once in Belize, another layer: catching the ferry to the small out island where we’d spend Christmas.

And so we settle into a rhythm in our little cottage on the ocean. It’s mid-November now, and the days are growing shorter though the temperatures linger in the high 70s. The contrast is a bit disorienting at times—warm, tropical air paired with a soft reminder that winter exists somewhere else—but we’re loving it.

Finding my inner power and the true voice of myself has been the key to being able to create this dream lifestyle that I wanted to bring forward that fits me. Many of you know me as being an advocate for “doing the work” in order to manifest with Life. Years of clearing and diving into the dark spaces of myself is the payoff for being able to live the life I choose.

And so I am downsized from my job while on the road. It was a shock for sure. Life is presenting opportunities, and I need to readjust and pivot. But the stress of not having a job is real! I am paying my own way on this travel adventure, and although I have minimized expenses as much as possible back home, travel is not cheap.

Where will I end up that will be a place that has people I would want to hang out with, where I love, has a great energy and vibe? Where my heart is happy and will want to stay a while?

This is an underlying current through these 6 months of travel - will there be a place I can land that will feel like my next home.

Where do we want to go? What should we see first?

Although we had planned to be on the East Coast first as I shared in the last blog, Florida was going to be a non-starter. So we needed to pivot and decided to stay on the West Coast. We had 4 weeks before we would head to a place we had booked in Nassau, Bahamas, so we were free to pick a spot - any spot!
