A way of living — and a way of seeing
Listen • Trust • Act is a simple rhythm that has guided my life for years — through travel, transition, writing, and the moments in between.
It’s the idea at the heart of my TEDx talk, the lens behind my work, and the foundation of the book I’m writing now.
This isn’t a checklist or a formula.
It’s a way of paying attention.
Listen
Listening is where everything begins.
It’s the practice of slowing down enough to hear what’s true — beneath the noise, the expectations, and the pressure to have it all figured out.
Listening asks:
What feels aligned right now?
What no longer fits?
What is quietly asking for my attention?
For me, listening has shown up on long walks, in unfamiliar places, and in still moments at home. It’s often subtle — and always honest.
Trust
Trust is what follows listening.
It’s the willingness to believe what you hear — even when it doesn’t come with a clear plan or immediate reassurance.
Trust isn’t blind faith.
It’s earned through experience.
It’s the quiet confidence that builds when you’ve listened before — and seen how life responds when you honor what’s true for you.
Act
Action doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic.
Often, it’s one small, honest step — taken with intention.
Acting means:
choosing what aligns
letting go of what doesn’t
moving forward without forcing certainty
Some actions change everything.
Others simply open the next door.
Both matter.
How this rhythm shows up in my work
Listen • Trust • Act shapes how I:
travel
write
make decisions
approach new seasons of life
You’ll feel this rhythm woven through my essays on Travels with Spirit, my talks, and the stories I share — both from the road and from home.
It’s also the foundation of my next book, where I explore what happens when we stop rushing answers and start living the questions instead.
An invitation
This page isn’t here to tell you what to do.
It’s here to offer a rhythm you may already recognize — one that many of us return to, again and again, in different forms.
Sometimes listening is enough.
Sometimes trust takes time.
Sometimes action waits.
All of it counts.
